Every time someone in the beginning of the trailer tells you that this is a quite town, yeah well it never is. Strange things are happening in the American town of Hawkins, Indiana in this trailer for Netflix’s July 15 eight-episode series about a supernatural disappearance.
Set in the 1980s, Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands) stars as Joyce, the mother trying to track down her missing son, with David Harbour (Revolutionary Road) as the local law enforcement officer she has to convince.
Signposting the series as a “love letter to the supernatural classics of the 80’s” means that Netflix is especially well placed to court those who were consuming said movies first-hand at the time as well as a younger generation curious to experience what once was from a modernized perspective.

The mood is very ET in the beginning which quickly turns very Kyle XY. But of course, far more ominous than these two. The trailer is getting good reception on the internet and the video has about two lakh views in just day.
