‘Yes, I did behave very badly’

Telly actor Mihir Misshra cleans up his act and heads to Udaipur to act in a German TV show.

Apparently, you’ll be acting in The Dream Ship, a weekly show for German television?
Yes. And I’m more nervous than excited. I’ll be with a German cast and crew. This show has been on for a long time in Europe.
They make short stories. I’ll be doing one episode. It’s sheer coincidence that I play a surgeon here too. But the focus is on my personal life.

What's your role?
Well, I play a rich, affluent Brahmin boy who is settled in Germany and plans to come back to India. But his German girlfriend doesn't want him to leave. I return home and get engaged to an Indian girl. The story revolves around my relationship with both the women and the conflict that arises because of cultural differences.

Have you been approached for Sanjeevani?
No! I’ve heard rumours that it’s being revived but have n’t heard from the producers. I don’t think I’m being considered.

Are you disappointed that you won't be part of the show Sanjeevani which launched you?
Well, I'd be lying if I said I'm not feeling dejected. But, what goes around comes Sanjeevani was my first show, around. it’s close to my heart. But life doesn't come to an end if I don’t appear in its second season.

It’s said that you were a difficult actor on the sets of Sanjeevani?
I won't deny that. Yes, I did behave badly, especially with my co-stars. My attitude created unnecessary hassles. At that point, I was going through a rough phase in my personal life. I was a loner. It was tough for me to work and deliver. I cleared the air between Gurdeep (Kohli). Though we aren't best of friends today, we’re on talking terms.

I even explained my cirumstances to the producers. It was just a personal problem. Any regrets? I don't have any regrets. But I wish I could relive that phase when I was acting in Sanjeevani, so I could correct my image.

Has marriage changed you?
My wife Maninee has helped me change my reputation. On the personal and professional fronts, she’s been a support. I’ve become calmer; everything seems to be falling in place now. I’ve matured.
