Pakistan on Feb 12 confirmed it raised objections with US authorities after the US Trade Representative shared (and later deleted) a map showing the entire Jammu & Kashmir region—along with PoK and Aksai Chin—within India’s boundaries, a depiction aligned with New Delhi’s long-standing territorial claims. Pakistan’s foreign office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Islamabad contacted the US over what it called an “illegal” map and welcomed the subsequent deletion/correction, with the post having been shared around the time the India–US trade framework was announced.
