Currently, the United States and NATO allies have put their troops on standby in an event of military action by Russia in Ukraine. This after reports of Russia stepping up over 1 lakh troops at the Ukraine border surfaced. If the invasion happens, it is set to affect India's ties in times of a tectonic geopolitical flux. While India has ramped up its dialogue with the United States and getting into various pacts and alliances with it, Russia has been strengthening its connections with China in order to better resist US aggression if the need arises.
