- The upcoming Punjab assembly elections are set to witness a multi-cornered fight between Charanjit Singh Channi led Congress, Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP, Captain Amarinder Singh, Badals and the BJP. The new CVoter survey gives AAP the most number of projected seats but failing to go past the majority mark i.e. 59 seats. The survey shows incumbent Congress coming second with a projected seat range between 37 to 43 seats. The CVoter survey indicates Channi to be Punjab’s favourite CM but AAP’s Bhagwant Mann comes a close second. Akali Dal and its alliance can be kingmakers as the projected seat range for them is between 17 to 23 assembly seats as per the opinion poll. Hindustan Times’ Aditi Prasad decodes the numbers from the new survey with pollster Yashwant Deshmukh, HT executive editor Ramesh Vinayak and political analyst Prof Ashutosh Kumar.
