'Catastrophic...': U.S. airlines seek no 5G within 2 miles of runways

The CEOs of America's largest airlines have warned of serious consequences if the 5G rollout isn't limited near airports. The airlines want 5G implementation, set to start on Wednesday, delayed near key U.S. airports. Airlines and aircraft makers have flagged that 5G might interfere with altitude devices and affect low-visibility operations. Airlines have urged that 5G be implemented across the U.S., except within 2 miles of airport runways. In light of 5G implementation, airlines say necessary upgrades and changes to aviation equipment are crucial. Airlines have warned that the new service could render a significant number of wide-body aircraft unusable.
