The CBSE is set to penalise its on-screen marking (OSM) service provider, Coempt Edu Teck, following controversies surrounding the digital evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets. The move comes after students and social media users flagged vulnerabilities in the answer script evaluation portal, raising concerns over transparency and accuracy in the assessment process. According to officials, the Hyderabad-based company will face financial penalties under provisions of CBSE's August 2025 tender document. The contract includes strict penalty clauses for delays in resolving technical issues, including fines of ₹1 lakh for every 15-minute delay after a complaint is flagged by CBSE officials.
