- Days after India announced 10-day mandatory quarantine, the UK said it will accept India’s vaccine certification from Oct 11. The UK High Commissioner to India announced relaxation of rules for Indians. India had earlier imposed reciprocity on all UK nationals arriving from the country. The new rules came into effect from October 4 & will be applied despite travellers’ vaccination status. India had earlier warned the UK of imposing reciprocal measures if the country did not change its travel policy. As per previous rules in the UK, Indians vaccinated with both doses of Covishield were considered unvaccinated. The UK had said that the problem is with India’s vaccine certificates & not with Covishield vaccine.
