Updated on Mar 22, 2020 11:27 pm IST

India's streets and public places were eerily vacant on March 22, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for a 'janta curfew'. PM Modi had issued a call for the voluntary 'curfew' to try and break the chain of transmission of the Coronavirus disease called Covid-19. Major tourist and commercial hotspots such as the Marine Drive in Mumbai, Connaught Place in Delhi, and the temple town of Varanasi were devoid of crowds. Over 365 cases of Sars-Cov-2 infection have been reported in India so far.
