All 10 franchises were involved in back-and-forth bidding wars to capture players on the opening day. A total of 74 players were sold - out of which 20 were overseas - with ₹3,88,10,00,000 spent. Mumbai Indians shelled out a rollicking amount of ₹15.2 crore for Ishan Kishan. He became the 2nd most expensive Indian player in history of IPL auction, behind Yuvraj’s ₹16 crore back in 2014. CSK rallied behind Deepak Chahar, the four-time IPL champions paid a colossal ₹14 crore. Avesh Khan became the costliest uncapped player of all time with Lucknow Super Giant getting him for ₹10 crore. Watch the full video for more.
