Is India's growing injury crisis a major concern ahead of 2027 World Cup?

India captain Shubman Gill has raised concerns over the team's recurring injury setbacks, urging players to place greater emphasis on fitness with the 2027 ODI World Cup in sight. Gill's comments came after India's 27-run defeat to England at Lord's on July 19, which handed the hosts a 2-1 series victory. India's injury problems affected the team throughout the England tour, with Hardik Pandya, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana unavailable due to injuries. Washington Sundar also suffered hamstring discomfort during the ODI series, while Jasprit Bumrah missed the series decider after sustaining an impact-related injury in the second ODI.
