Venezuelan interim President Delcy Rodríguez announced that the country expects approximately $1.4 billion in oil sector investments in 2026 through Production Participation Contracts (CPP), marking a significant increase from around $900 million in 2025. Rodríguez also responded sharply to recent comments attributed to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, describing them as “irrelevant and offensive.” She reiterated that Venezuela maintains an independent policy path and rejects any external interference, while expressing that the country remains open to maintaining respectful and mutually beneficial relations with the United States.
