‘Every Indian Muslim must ask...’: Naseer to those 'celebrating Taliban return'

  • Actor Naseeruddin Shah slammed 'sections of Indian Muslims celebrating Taliban’s return in Afghanistan’. Calling the act dangerous, the veteran actor shared a video message which later went viral. Shah added that those celebrating the Taliban's return to power should question themselves. The 71-year-old actor differentiated between 'Hindustani Islam' & what is practised in other parts of world. “Even as the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan is a cause for concern for the whole world, celebrations of the barbarians by some sections of Indian Muslims are no less dangerous. Today, every Indian Muslim should ask themselves if they want a reformed, modern Islam or live with the old barbarism of the past few centuries,” Shah said. Taliban swept into Kabul on August 15 defeating the govt forces of war-torn Afghanistan. The insurgent group's pace of capturing the country has sent shockwaves across the globe.
