Europe within striking range now? Russia activates uninterceptable nuke-capable Oreshnik in Belarus
Published on Dec 27, 2025 02:20 pm IST
Russia is intensifying its military posture in Eastern Europe, with reports indicating that nuclear-capable Oreshnik missiles are being stationed at a former airbase in eastern Belarus. Satellite imagery cited by Reuters shows rapid construction activity consistent with a strategic missile facility, including secured rail infrastructure and a possible camouflaged launch site. The deployment follows Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s confirmation that Oreshnik systems have arrived in the country. Experts warn the move could place much of Europe within range and alter the regional balance of power, especially as the U.S. prepares to deploy Dark Eagle missiles in Germany, escalating tensions with NATO.
