Army looking to buy 12 Made-in-India weapon locating radars, which would bolster defenses along the LAC. If cleared, the acquisition proposal, worth around Rs. 1,000CR, will be a big boost for the Army on the China front. Long range weapon systems & mechanization of land forces have extended area of operations beyond the visual range. Electronic surveillance devices in the battlefield serve as a force multiplier to enhance the combat potential. Electronic surveillance devices' deployment also helps optimize the effectiveness of weapon systems.
