- Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has come under fire yet again after another sacrilege attempt in the states. A 35-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he stepped on the threshold and hugged the idol of Goddess Durga at Kali Devi Temple in Patiala. Soon after the priest and other devotees present in temple premises pinned him down before handing him over to the police. As per initial investigation, police say the man hugged the idol because he was a staunch follower of Goddess Durga. This is a second such sacrilege attempt in Punjab month after the one at Golden temple. While Punjab Congress Chief slammed the politics of hate around the controversy, Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal questioned the law and order situation in the state. Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh called for the election commission to look into the matter. Watch for more detaills
