Chhattisgarh CM on battle against Naxalism, anti-conversion law & more | HTLS 2025

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2025, said his government will bring a new, stricter anti-conversion law and make existing provisions tougher to curb what he calls “illegal” religious conversions, especially among tribal communities. He framed the move as necessary to protect culture and prevent conversions through force or inducement, signalling that the coming legislation will significantly tighten oversight and penalties around religious conversion in the state.​
