Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, at HTLS 2025, called Delhi’s toxic air a “legacy problem” and said there is “no magic wand” to fix decades of unchecked growth, congestion and bad planning overnight. She defended her government’s record, listing moves like anti-dust cleanliness drives, sprinklers, curbs under GRAP, heaters to reduce open burning and a push on trees and mechanised sweeping, while insisting lockdown-style measures are not viable for a city of Delhi’s size.
