Explained: How India-US BECA pact will help in LAC faceoff with China

The stage is set for the signing of the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement for Geo-Spatial cooperation during the 2+2 meeting between India and US. BECA is considered the last of the foundational agreements to be signed by India and the US. This pact will help India get sensitive data from US military satellites and this comes at a time when China has been provoking India at the LAC in Ladakh. So how will the deepening of defence ties between India and US impact China's strategy at the LAC? Will it now mend its ways or continue to remain belligerent? National security analyst Nitin Gokhale answers these questions in a conversation with Aditi Prasad.
