1 dead, several injured in Saharanpur violence

Atleast one person died in fresh violence between two communities in western Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place after Bahujan Samaj Party's chief Mayawati's visit to Shabbirpur village. After the rally, a truck carrying Dalits back to their village from the venue was attacked by some people. One person died and several others were seriously injured in the incident. Lashing out the state government, Dalit leader Rahul said this tragic incident shows the failure of the government. Meanwhile, SSP S Dubey informed ANI that 24 people have been arrested in connection with clash between two communities in Saharanpur so far.
