Caught on CCTV: Woman steals baby and throws him off the roof

Updated on Sep 05, 2016 02:40 pm IST

A woman stole her 17-day-old nephew from a hospital in Kalyanpur and threw him from the rooftop believing his birth would lower her status in the family as she has three daughters. The child, Anmol, was found entangled in the iron net some 16 foot below the hospital roof, alive. The net was cast to prevent the monkeys from entering the house. Sarita Devi has now been arrested after she was caught on CCTV stealing the baby from ward number three of Shyam Maternity and Children hospital in Indira Nagar, Kalyanpur.
