Rajouri is marred with shelling due to ceasefire violations and cross-border shelling. For the past few weeks, Pakistani troops have repeatedly targeted civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC). Many have died and got injured in the past and life in Rajouri gets disrupted in a jiffy. School and markets shut down regularly making life very uncertain for the residents. But authorities have found a temporary solution to protect the civilians in this area. 102 bunkers have been built where civilians can take refuge in case of firing. Residents now say they feel safer.
