‘Govt digressing from real issues’: Robert Vadra grilled by IT department

Updated on Jan 05, 2021 11:37 am IST

The Income Tax department questioned Robert Vadra in connection with its probe against him under the benami assets law, official sources said. He was questioned for about eight hours and his statement was recorded as part of the proceedings related to the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act, they said. Vadra said the action was aimed to 'digress' from the 'real issues' concerning the country like the farmers' protest. “We have answered everything. It was nothing related to Benami,” said Vadra. “Everybody knows it is. If Priyanka is going to move out looking for helping the farmers and all the other issues of the government, they are going to come to Robert Vadra,”he added when asked if the action is related to political vendetta.
