Here’s looking at you, Taj!

Built in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. But history, romance and expectation of beauty does not seem to be enough to draw visitors to the Taj anymore. While it remains the most-visited monument in India, footfall to the Taj has been dropping in the last few years, from 6.07 million in 2014 to 4.63 million in 2015 according to tourism ministry data.
