Barcode scanner was being used to identify voter details in Pune. This was the first time barcode scanning was done at Pune's Kasba Peth constituency. Voters need not carry their ID cards along with them in near future. Through QR code, polling officer can easily get voter's identity. It is believed that this new technology will eliminate bogus voters.
