Updated on May 22, 2017 03:29 pm IST

In an effort to discipline two-wheeler riders, the Lucknow Police on Monday began a new drive in the capital city wherein the riders won't be able to refill their tanks if found riding their vehicle without a helmet. Lauding UP government's decision, a local said he fully supports the government as it will encourage riders to not leave their homes without a helmet. Meanwhile, a petrol pump employee said people coming to refill their tanks without helmets are sent back and are made aware of the rules regarding this drive. Reportedly, the government has asked all petrol pumps to report vehicle numbers to transport authorities whenever they found a two-wheeler rider without a helmet.
