‘PM Modi didn’t seek Zakir Naik’s extradition’: Malaysian PM

Updated on Mar 01, 2020 08:39 pm IST

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has said that PM Narendra Modi did not seek Zakir Naik's extradition when they met on the sidelines of the 5th East Economic Forum in Russia. The Malaysian PM also added that no country wants Zakir Naik as he could be troublesome. This contradicts India's claim that PM Modi had raised the issue with his Malayasian counterpart in Russia. Indian agencies have been going after Zakir Naik after 2016 Bangladesh terror attackers called him their inspiration.
