Protest in Puducherry University over BJP MP Tarun Vijay’s visit

Furious over the alleged racist remarks on 'South Indians' by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Tarun Vijay; a protest erupted in Puducherry University after the BJP MP arrived at the campus for a program. Students from various unions showed their resentment to the MP by raising slogans vehemently. The police forcibly evicted the students and many of them were later detained. Following the mass sloganeering inside the auditorium, the protestors were later seen demonstrating outside the campus auditorium.
