On a day Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Urjit Patel resigned from office RPG group's Harsh Goenka told Mint the central bank must pay credence to the government while trying to be creatively independent. In a telephonic interview with Mint associate editor Srija Agrawal, Harsh Goenka said about Patel's exit: “I've got mixed emotions because I think Urjit Patel was a good governor… a little bit of an inflation hawk. But what is important is there should always be healthy creative tension between the RBI and the government. But when it turns to destructive tension, one party has to win and the stronger party in that situation prevails.”
