India Punishes Pakistan After Pahalgam Attack; Indus Water Treaty Suspended, Attari Border Post Shut

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri addressed a late-night MEA press briefing following the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen. The government announced a series of strong measures: suspending the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, closing the Attari border checkpost, cancelling visa exemptions and visas for Pakistani nationals, expelling Pakistani defence advisers, and reducing diplomatic staff in both countries’ high commissions. Security agencies have been directed to maintain high vigil, and India vowed relentless pursuit of the perpetrators and their sponsors. Watch the video for more details.
