Reacting to Pakistan announcing a reward of PKR 70 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal dismissed the move as a “gimmick” and a hollow announcement. Jaiswal said Pakistan has made similar announcements in the past and accused the country of attempting to “hoodwink” people. He said a state that sponsors terrorism should take concrete action rather than make announcements that have no meaningful consequence.
