Irate fans protest Richard Gere kissing Shilpa Shetty

Fans in Indore burnt an effigy of Hollywood actor Richard Gere today to protest his impromptu hug and kiss with Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty at an AIDS awareness function in New Delhi on Sunday. They said such behaviour would not be tolerated in India as it went against the country's culture. Gere had joined Shetty in an anti-AIDS drive among truckers in India, the country with the world's largest number of people living with HIV.
