Rajasthan gets its new Chief Minister

Ashok Gehlot, after leading Congress Party to an electoral victory in Rajasthan, was sworn in as chief of the state on Saturday amidst tight security arrangements. Gehlot, was sworn in as the state chief for the second term in a public ceremony attended by Governor S K Singh. He was the Chief Minister of Rajasthan from December 1, 1998 to December 8, 2003. Gehlot was alleged to be responsible for the worst electoral defeat of the Congress party in 1952.
