Reshuffle in PMO: Vikram Misri made Private Secretary

A minor reshuffle was effected in the Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday, with senior IFS officer Vikram Misri being made Private Secretary to the Prime Minister and Jawed Ashraf, who was earlier Joint Secretary (Americas Division), being made the Joint Secretary (PMO). For Misri, 1989-batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service, this is the second time he is serving as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister. He was earlier Private Secretary to Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral in 1997. Misri has succeeded fellow Jaideep Sarkar who has been posted as Ambassador to Israel.
