Uttarakhand Police horse Shaktiman, which lost its left hind limb after an alleged attack by BJP legislator Ganesh Joshi, died on Wednesday afternoon.The 14-year-old horse was injured at a rally in Dehradun organised by the BJP to protest against the government in March.“The animal is suspected to have died of infection,” said KS Rawat, reserve inspector (RI) at Dehradun District Police Lines.Shaktiman's injured leg was amputated on March 17 and a prosthetic leg was attached.
