Indian dhow sinks off Oman? US Navy alerts Indian authorities, rescues 14 sailors from sinking ship

Fourteen Indian sailors have been safely rescued after their India‑flagged vessel MSV Virat 1 began sinking off the coast of Oman, with a US Navy aircraft dropping a life raft and coordinating with nearby ships and Omani authorities to complete the operation. All crew members were transferred to a liferaft and have now been picked up and are en route to Mumbai, according to the Indian Embassy in Oman.
