The Philippines and India have begun their first-ever joint patrol in the disputed South China Sea, marking a turning point in their strategic partnership as regional tensions with China escalate. Starting August 3, Philippine Navy vessels sailed alongside three Indian warships, including the guided missile destroyer INS Delhi, for a two-day maritime operation. This historic patrol coincides with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s landmark visit to India for high-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed at deepening defense and security cooperation.
