A U.S. document with charges against an arrested Indian identified as Nikhil Gupta has been accessed. The U.S. attorney for the southern district of New York has made startling claims in the document. The document mentions how the plan to kill Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun was hatched by Nikhil Gupta along with an unnamed Indian government employee. Nikhil Gupta allegedly agreed to pay $100,000 to assassinate Pannun. However, the hitman Gupta hired was an undercover officer for the U.S. authorities.
