Residents gathered at Tehran’s Enghelab Square and burned a huge banner depicting U.S. President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. The banner burning took place during a state-organised rally marking the anniversary of the 1979 U.S. embassy seizure in Tehran. Iran's government welcomed the Republican Party's midterm losses, while senior Iranian sources said Tehran remained on high alert amid concerns about possible renewed U.S. military strikes.
