Jamia Millia Islamia To Resume Student Union Elections After Two Decades | HT India

Jamia Millia Islamia has announced the resumption of student union elections after a gap of nearly two decades. In an order issued on Monday, the university administration stated that elections would be held 15 days after approval of the students’ union constitution. The announcement follows days of student protests demanding the restoration of an elected students’ union. The union was dissolved by the university administration in 2006, and students have since sought its return. The decision marks a significant development for student representation at the Delhi-based university.
