Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has assured India that Russian energy supplies will continue despite what he called “unfair and dishonest competition” from external powers. Ahead of his visit to New Delhi, Lavrov stressed that India-Russia ties remain rooted in deep friendship and strategic cooperation. He highlighted the importance of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant project and confirmed ongoing cooperation in oil, gas, coal, nuclear energy, science, and space technology. Lavrov also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying relations between Moscow and New Delhi are “unthinkable” to break.
