The U.S. has reportedly agreed to release frozen Iranian assets held in Qatar and other foreign banks, according to Reuters, in a move Tehran sees as a sign of seriousness amid ongoing talks in Islamabad. The reported step is said to be linked to ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, although a U.S. official told CBS News that Washington has not agreed to any such arrangement.
