Ayodhya Ram Temple donation case: Is Champat Rai off the hook in the Ram Temple donation theft case?

The Special Investigation Team probing the alleged theft of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple has given a clean chit to former Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai in its first report, according to people aware of the developments. The Home Department has examined the report and forwarded it to the temple trust for further action. The report reportedly does not name either Champat Rai or former trust member Anil Mishra, both of whom resigned on June 27 amid the probe. A second SIT, constituted under the Supreme Court’s supervision, is continuing its investigation into the alleged donation irregularities.
