'Ban Ambedkar, Periyar...': Prof. Ravi Kant Chandan defends remarks on Kashi

Lucknow University Hindi professor, Ravi Kant Chandan, is facing right-wing fire for his alleged derogatory remarks made during a television debate on Kashi Vishwanath temple in the backdrop of the recent development to conduct a survey of Maa Shringar Gauri Sthal in the Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi complex in Varanasi. In an interview to Hindustan Times, the professor defended his stand, saying he had just quoted books. He said if the books authored by personalities like B.R Ambedkar and Periyar are so offensive, then the government should simply ban them. Watch the full interview.
