Barabanki mishap: Survivor recounts how truck mowed eighteen sleeping on road

18 people were killed and several injured after a truck rammed into a bus in UP’s Barabanki. A double-decker bus was hit by a truck on the Lucknow-Ayodhya national highway. The axle of the bus broke down & it was parked when the truck hit it from behind. The bus with 140 labourers on board was on its way to Bihar from Punjab’s Ludhiana. After the bus broke down, the labourers slept on the road near the bus. The truck hit the bus from behind and the bus moved ahead and crushed the labourers. PM Modi conveyed his condolences and announced ₹2 lakh ex-gratia for families of those deceased. Watch the full video for more.
