Bengal hands over land to BSF; Suvendu rolls out 'Detect, Delete, Deport' push against infiltrators

West Bengal Chief Minister has launched a major border security initiative by handing over a 27-km stretch of land to the (BSF) for long-pending fencing projects along the India- border. Calling it the beginning of a larger border security infrastructure, Adhikari also announced a broader “detect, delete & deport” mechanism aimed at identifying and detaining infiltrators, who would then be handed over directly to the BSF. The move marks one of the first major policy decisions of the new Bengal government.
