Days after lathicharge face-off, Karnal prepares for farmer mahapanchayat

• Ahead of a mega farmers’ mahapanchayat in Haryana’s Karnal, security has been beefed up. At least 10 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed in Karnal along with 40 teams of police. Internet services have been suspended in Karnal and nearby areas. Farmers are holding a Mahapanchayat and a protest against a lathi-charge incident on farmer protesters on August 28. The SDM of Karnal had issued a ‘break heads’ order for protesters breaching barricades. At least 10 protesters were injured in the incident. Watch the full video for more details.
