Covaxin gets WHO emergency nod; 'Atmanirbhar Diwali' says Mansukh Mandaviya

It is a mega Diwali bonanza for India has World Health Organisation grants emergency approval to indigenous Covaxin. The W.H.O. approved the Covaxin for emergency use listing on the recommendation of technical advisory team for 18 years and above. The W.H.O. said that Technical Advisory Group, convened by WHO & made up of regulatory experts from around the world, has determined that Covaxin vaccine meets WHO standards for protection against COVID, that benefit of the vaccine far outweighs risks & the vaccine can be used across the world. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya thanked the W.H.O. for the emergency approval of India's Covaxin and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the achievement. He said that it was a Diwali gift for 'self-reliant' India. Watch this report for more.
