The MEA has said that eight former Navy personnel, whose death sentences were commuted by Qatar, now have 60 days to appeal against their varying prison sentences. They were handed prison terms ranging from 3-25 years by a Qatari court last month. External affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the legal team aiding the eight men had received a copy of the verdict but it was a “confidential document”. Watch for more details.
