Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the strong strategic partnership between India and Indonesia while addressing a joint session of the Indonesian Parliament during his three-day visit to the country. Thanking Indonesia for standing with India after the Pahalgam terror attack, PM Modi said both nations share an unwavering commitment against terrorism and should deepen cooperation in intelligence sharing, cyber security, terror financing and de-radicalisation. He also called for urgent reforms to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), saying the rapidly changing global order demands greater representation for countries like India and Indonesia. The visit also saw both sides expand cooperation across defence, trade, digital technology, maritime security, critical minerals and culture, while announcing the "Tagore-Dewantara Year for Cultural and Educational Diplomacy" in 2027.
